Everything needed to stitch the design is in the box: the printed canvas, all 14 yarn colours, two needles, the chart and the instructions. You do not need to buy yarn, a frame or a pattern separately.

The one thing not included is the backing that turns the finished piece into a cushion. Those are sold on their own so you can choose the colour: velvet pillow backings with a zipper.

Yes. Each of the 14 colours is measured against the printed area it covers and cut with extra length on top, so there is room for restarts and for a slightly looser hand. The yarn arrives pre-sorted by colour rather than as one bundle, so you are not untangling skeins before you begin.

This is the question we are asked most often, and it drives how we print. The design is printed directly onto the canvas in high definition, so the boundary between one colour and the next stays sharp instead of bleeding into the weave. Colours are chosen with clear separation between neighbouring shades.

The canvas itself is a large-hole weave, which means bigger stitches and fewer of them across the same area. Many of our customers stitch in the evening or under a lamp and tell us the printed canvas is easier to follow than working from a paper chart.

Yes. Because the design is printed on the canvas, there is no counting and no chart-reading required — you match the yarn to the colour underneath the hole and stitch. Most people are stitching confidently within the first half hour.

Half cross stitch is the usual choice and the one the instructions walk through. Continental and basketweave both work on this canvas as well, and there is enough yarn in the kit to use a stitch that consumes a little more. Experienced stitchers often mix stitches to change the texture between the subject and the background.

The stitched panel finishes at 16″ × 16″ (40 × 40 cm), which is the standard cushion size, so it fits an off-the-shelf insert.

To make it up, pair it with a velvet backing — it comes hemmed and with the zipper already fitted, so it is a straight seam around four sides rather than a sewing project.

It is what most of our kits are bought for. The kit arrives complete, so there is nothing for the recipient to work out or shop for before starting, and the finished cushion stays in the house long after the project is done.
